FAQ

Q: What should I bring to league games?
A: Almost all events require full protective gear- for the boys that is gloves, arm pads, shoulder pad, stick, helmet, mouth guard, lacrosse cleats, and a protective cup. Rib pads are also recommended but not required. Girls must have eye protection, stick and mouth guard. Other items such as water, snacks, and sunscreen are always highly recommended. For events during the winter months, sweats, long sleeve shirts, and other warm outerwear is always a good idea.

Q: We are going to miss the Evaluation Day, is that a problem?  How will we know what team our kid will be on?

A: During the The Evaluation Day, our summer league coaches take note of the players they wish to draft to their teams, ensuring the teams are evenly distributed with talent. There will be a few players who will be missing it as families pursue their own summer adventures, vacation plans, etc, so don’t worry about missing it.  What we do in these situations is place your son on a team; our team rosters are posted online shortly after our Evaluation Day, so when some of our families missing Evaluation Day do get back home, they can easily look online and see which team their son is on and know his practice/game schedule.

Q: What do we do if there is bad weather during an event?
A: Lacrosse, like football and most other field sports, will continue in cold or rainy weather. Safety is always the top priority for our athletes and if the weather is threatening or compromising our players safety- we will cancel or postpone play at the discretion of our program directors. In the event of lightning, play will be stopped immediately.

Q: Should I still sign up if I can’t attend every day of the event?
A: For the most part, that is going to be up to you. For summer leagues and longer term events- we understand that people go on vacation and are likely to miss a couple sessions. We adjust team roster sizes to allow for some absenteeism. Players are welcome to attend camps and leagues as often as their schedules permit- Camp will continue on without you, and you can jump back in when you return!

Q: Will I receive a jersey or uniform at the league I'm attending?
A: Yes, every player will receive a jersey at every Vitality league.

Q: Do I need a US Lacrosse membership to register for a Vitality Lacrosse event?
A: Although we strongly encourage all lacrosse players to become members of US Lacrosse, we do not require membership for participation in our events. All players will receive the same insurance benefits whether they are US Lacrosse members or not. To register as a US Lacrosse member, please visit www.uslacrosse.org

Q: What age group should I sign my child up for?
A: In the summer, sign your son up for the grade they will be entering in the fall.  Each league division is based upon the grade and not age.  Players are allowed to play up an age division if he is physically and talented enough to play at the next level.

Q: My child has just started playing lacrosse and is a beginner. Is your league right for them?
A: We have a great coaching staff to help a beginner improve and get a better understanding of the game. Our U-11 and U-13 divisions have a great instructional component which are very beneficial for beginners. Our U-15 and High School Divisions are more instruction on the fly while the players compete in games. Our entire coaching staff is dedicated to making sure every player is having a great experience, no matter what their skill level.

We do require verification of such medical circumstances- please send an email to email@VitalityLacrosse.com if you are unable to participate in an event you have registered for and would like to receive credit towards another program or a partial refund.  There will be no refunds within 3 weeks of a league start date.
